Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, you'll be the go-to person for getting prescriptions out the door and helping customers find exactly what they need—all while keeping things running smoothly and safely.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter prescription data into computer systems with accuracy and verify prescriptions for completeness and correctness
  • Process insurance claims and prior authorizations, and handle payments for prescriptions and over-the-counter purchases
  • Maintain meticulous records of patient medication histories and manage controlled substance documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Stock, organize, and store pharmacy inventory and supplies; conduct inventory counts and communicate supply needs to the pharmacist
  • Assist customers with questions and purchases while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy in all pharmacy operations
  • Support the pharmacist with medication counseling preparation and assist with patient education materials
  • Collaborate with the supervising pharmacist to maintain efficient pharmacy operations
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Minimum of six (6) months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.
