Job Description

BEMA Information Technologies has spent more than 25 years helping churches solve technology problems. We work primarily with churches across the country, representing a wide range of denominations, traditions, and ministry styles.

We are looking for a Software Developer & Consultant who has a natural knack for development, enjoys solving complex problems, and genuinely enjoys working with churches. You should be curious about why a client needs something, comfortable working directly with them, and excited to figure out solutions to problems you haven’t seen before.

We are a little bit different

  • We care about people, your family, and your career development
  • We do not want you working overtime
  • We want you to take time off and will respect it
  • We strive to make allowances or assign work based on your passions
  • We have built a team environment that provides training and encourages professional growth

Purpose

We are seeking a Software Developer to help our team support specialized CRM’s and church management systems. The best-qualified candidate will have a passion for helping organizations solve problems and document processes.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Work directly with churches to understand problems, recommend solutions, and build them
  • Develop solutions using Rock RMS, SQL, Vue.js, Lava/Liquid, APIs, and other technologies
  • Use AI and modern development tools to research, prototype, troubleshoot, and build solutions
  • Collaborate with a team of 20+ developers, consultants, and support staff when you need help or another perspective
  • Test, document, deploy, and support the solutions you build

Needed Attributes:

  • Strong software development and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, APIs, and web development
  • Experience with Rock RMS or a similar CRM/ChMS platform
  • Comfortable working directly with churches and ministry leaders
  • Able to take a problem, research it, and independently work toward a solution
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to quality, testing, and documentation
